Fishing Licences and Boat Qualifications
You need the appropriate fishing permissions for the water. From 1 October 2026, the person hiring or renting and operating a self-drive recreational motor boat must hold the appropriate valid boating qualification or certificate. Passengers on a guide-operated boat do not each need a boating licence.
